Continental Conti.eContact

You drive more miles per volt, we enjoy less emissions per mile

For electric vehicles in compact class

The first e-car tyre

• Engineered in Germany, Continental offers premium tyres with optimum braking performance and safety
• Minimal rolling resistance for highest mileage
• The Renault Twizzy has been the first vehicle equipped with Conti.eContact tyres in 2011. Also the new Volkswagen eGolf is equipped with Conti.eContact

Reduced rolling resistance for highest mileage.
The Conti.eContact features a completely new design. In addition to a larger outer and rim diameter, which allows the same load capacity with reduced tyre width, it has an optimized sidewall flexing zone with less material, optimized tread depth and rigid ribs, as well as a flat contour. Through the resulting flexible sidewall area and reduced tread movement, the tyre offers optimized rolling resistance for highest mileage.

Unrivalled braking performance and low noise emissions.
The tyre's four circumferential grooves offer an even pressure distribution in the footprint. This leads to lower noise emissions. In addition, the high number of lateral sipes and no lateral grooves create a reduced acoustic excitation and an optimal 'wiper-effect'. Thus, the noise emission is further reduced and the braking distance in the wet shortened. Not only does the tyre's construction reduce noise emissions, but the braking distance in the wet is shortened also.

Aerodynamic sidewall design with golf ball structure.
The sidewall's smooth off-shoulder design, which is aerodynamically optimized, features less edges so as to avoid air turbulence. This results in reduced fuel consumption. The sidewall's aerodynamically optimized design reduces fuel consumption

For hybrid vehicles in luxury and mid-sized class

High technology made with craftsmanship

• Engineered in Germany, Continental offers premium tyres with optimum braking performance and safety.
• Reduced rolling resistance, excellent handling and safety thanks to the Green Chilli compound
• Designed for hybrid cars like Opel Ampera, Citroen DS 5 Hybrid, BMW 5 ActiveHybrid , Peugeot 508 Hybrid, Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid or VW Touareg Hybrid

Reduced rolling resistance, excellent handling and safety thanks to the Green Chilli compound.
Continental’s Green Chilli compound reduces the internal friction of the particles and polymers, thus also reducing rolling resistance. This has resulted in the Conti.eContact receiving the EU label grade A for fuel efficiency. In addition, special grip additives lead to improved grip and stable handling. Thanks to its reduced rolling resistance, the Conti.eContact has received the top mark for fuel efficiency. In addition, it boasts improved grip and stable handling.

Improved braking performance in the wet due to HydroSipes.
The HydroSipes, with their optimized “wiper”-effect, diffuse the water film quickly and optimally. Thus, the water is drained away better between the tread blocks and the road surface. This leads to shorter braking distances and better handling in the wet, as well as better wet performance even at higher speeds. The tyre is able to optimally diffuse and drain water away, leading to shorter braking distances and better handling in the wet, as well as better wet performance even at higher speeds.

Reduced wind and rolling resistance given by AeroFlex, a more flexible and aerodynamic sidewall.
Thanks to its unique design, AeroFlex has fewer edges, thus avoiding air turbulence. At the same time, the sidewall area is more flexible, meaning that less energy is lost when deflecting or rebounding. All this leads to reduced fuel consumption and optimized rolling resistance. Thanks to the tyre's unique design, air turbulence is easily avoided and less energy is lost when deflecting or rebounding. All this leads to reduced fuel consumption and optimized rolling resistance

Reduced interior noise through the ContiSilent™ technology.
Through a polyurethane foam attached to the inner surface of the tread area, the ContiSilent™ technology is able to absorb vibrations inside the tyre, thus transmitting fewer to the chassis. In turn, this means that the interior noise is significantly reduced. The Conti.eContact is able to absorb vibrations inside the tyre, meaning that the interior noise is significantly reduced.
