The Goodyear EfficientGrip Compact is a long-lasting tyre with excellent fuel efficiency, wet weather braking and aquaplaning resistance. The EfficientGrip Compact tyre delivers security and comfort with high levels of handling and performance. The lightweight construction enables a low rolling resistance. Special cavity shape, two big circumsferential grooves and blades offer good wet performance.

The fuel-saving tyre for long life and confident wet or dry handling

The new Goodyear EfficientGrip Compact combines high mileage and fuel efficiency with shorter braking distances in wet or dry.

Environmentally friendly. A stiffer tread design reduces rolling resistance, resulting in lower CO2 emissions, while regular wear means longer tyre life and less waste generated.

Shorter braking distances on wet and dry roads. A new tread design features dual wide grooves, extra large sipes and multiple biting edges to cut through surface water for improved braking in the wet.

Better resistance to aquaplaning. A rounder cavity shape stops the accumulation of water in front of the tyre to help prevent aquaplaning.

Improved fuel efficiency and mileage. Advances in tyre components and construction reduce overall tyre weight by 5%* for improved rolling resistance, while optimised pressure distribution promotes even tyre wear.

Better fuel efficiency and value By improving manufacturing materials and techniques, Goodyear have shaved 5%* off the tyre's weight. This reduces rolling resistance, so you'll save on fuel and enjoy better mileage. Improved pressure distribution across the tyre means you'll also benefit from more even wear across the treads.

EU Tyre Label and Efficiency Classes

The European Union has introduced the EU Tyre Label by Regulation (No. 1222/2009) identically and bindingly for all EU member states. It applies to passenger car tyres, light commercial vehicle tyres and heavy commercial vehicle tyres produced after 01.07.2012.

Three different areas are tested: rolling resistance, wet grip and the rolling noise the tyre makes on the road.

The following are not affected by the EU Tyre Label: retreaded tyres, professional off-road tyres, racing tyres, tyres with additional devices to improve traction such as spiked tyres, T-type emergency tyres, special tyres for fitting to vehicles first registered before 1 October 1990, tyres with a maximum authorised speed of 80 km/h, tyres for rims with a nominal diameter of 254 mm or less or 635 mm or more.

With this regulation, the European Union is pursuing the goal of promoting economic and ecological efficiency in road traffic as well as increasing road safety on the one hand, and on the other hand, granting consumers more product transparency and at the same time serving as an active decision-making aid.

Already during the incorporation, experts criticise the fact that the EU Tyre Label unfortunately only shows a few product characteristics. Apart from rolling resistance, wet grip and rolling noise, which are the main focus of EU tyre labelling, tyres have much more important and safety-relevant product characteristics, such as aquaplaning properties, driving stability, service life, braking properties on dry and wet roads, behaviour in wintry conditions, etc.

Tyre manufacturers point out that test results from various institutions and journals remain an important information medium for the end consumer. These tests usually focus on further safety-relevant product characteristics besides the EU standard qualifications for tyre labelling, which are always important for the final customer.

Great grip and breaking in wet, only lasted 6 months on 61hp fwd car

there was noticeable fuel efficiency improvement since I put on these tyres. I used to get up to 350miles per tank with the old set of tyres and now I get up to 380miles. They are also very quiet. Would definitely buy again myself and recommend to others.
