A tyre designed to last, with outstanding durability and handling. The Goodyear EfficientGrip Compact is a long-lasting tyre with excellent fuel efficiency, wet weather braking and aquaplaning resistance. The EfficientGrip Compact tyre delivers security and comfort with high levels of handling and performance. The lightweight construction enables a low rolling resistance. Special cavity shape, two big circumsferential grooves and blades offer good wet performance.
The fuel-saving tyre for long life and confident wet or dry handling
The new Goodyear EfficientGrip Compact combines high mileage and fuel efficiency with shorter braking distances in wet or dry.
Environmentally friendly. A stiffer tread design reduces rolling resistance, resulting in lower CO2 emissions, while regular wear means longer tyre life and less waste generated.
Shorter braking distances on wet and dry roads. A new tread design features dual wide grooves, extra large sipes and multiple biting edges to cut through surface water for improved braking in the wet.
Better resistance to aquaplaning. A rounder cavity shape stops the accumulation of water in front of the tyre to help prevent aquaplaning.
Improved fuel efficiency and mileage. Advances in tyre components and construction reduce overall tyre weight by 5%* for improved rolling resistance, while optimised pressure distribution promotes even tyre wear.
Better fuel efficiency and value By improving manufacturing materials and techniques, Goodyear have shaved 5%* off the tyre's weight. This reduces rolling resistance, so you'll save on fuel and enjoy better mileage. Improved pressure distribution across the tyre means you'll also benefit from more even wear across the treads.
Environmentally friendly A lower rolling resistance also makes the tyre more eco-friendly, as its lower fuel consumption means less CO2 emissions. Because it wears evenly, the tyre will also need to be replaced less frequently, which helps reduce waste.
Improved braking in all conditions Extra wide grooves and plenty of sharp biting edges for slicing through surface water feature on the EfficientGrip Compact's new tread design, to deliver shorter braking distances in both rainy and dry weather.
Aquaplaning resistance Feel safe on the road in all weathers with tyres designed to reduce aquaplaning. Rounder cavity shapes prevent water from building up in front of the tyre, to reduce the risk of aquaplaning.

EU Tyre Label and Efficiency Classes
The European Union, under CE 1222/2009, has mandated that all tyres manufactured after the date of July 1 2012 for cars and commercial vehicles include standard EU Tyre Labels classifying them by three performance characteristics:fuel efficiency classified from A to G,wet grip classified from A to G, and noise emission in decibels.
Categories of tyres unaffected by this regulation include: retreaded tyres, professional off-road tyres, racing/sports car tyres, as well as certain types of tyres designed to improve traction such as studded tyres, T-type temporary spare tyres, tyres for cars built before 1990, tyres with a maximum allowed speed of 80km/h, tyres for rims with a diameter less or equal to 254 mm or greater or equal to 635 mm. This label is intended on one hand to promote economic and ecological efficiency in traffic, as well as increase road safety, and on the other hand to help consumers select appropriate tyres by ensuring a certain degree of product transparency.
Nevertheless, the label has been criticized for only showing a very limited number of characteristics. Professionals argue that tyres have many more features that are important and relevant to road safety, including but not limited to aquaplaning properties, driving stability, service life, product properties on wet and dry roads other than wet grip, properties on snow. Tyre manufacturers suggest that the test results from various institutions and industry magazines should remain a very important source of information for the end consumer, because they focus on and rate a wide variety of tyre properties and features.
