SCORPION TRAIL: PERFORMANCE PROGRESSION FOR THE ENDURO SEGMENT This segment was born during the 1980s when BMW GS had begun wining the most important African rallies, using resistant motorcycles with a 21' enduro tire on front. Soon these big motorcycles started to meet the street for long distance tours and the natural progression of their usage has modified the fitment: larger tire on the rear and a smaller 19' on the front. Today, the segment of enduro is one of the strongest in the market, and BMW GS series is the unquestioned market killer. Other manufacturers are trying to enter the segment bringing back the off road heritage as Tènèrè, V-Storm or TransAlp, or introducing aggressive style bikes like Benelli Tre1103K or Moto Morini Granpasso.
As motorcycle manufactures are renewing their offers bringing in new models able to evocate to the rider the freedom and the power of following his own imagination, Scorpion Trail has been created to answer to the new requirements of an increasingly demanding market. An aggressive look, mixed with technological innovations and essential features like high speed stability, off-road traction, handling and comfort, but also grip in all conditions: this is Pirelli's Scorpion Trail.
- Innovative tread design: a long pitch design allows to embed in one tyre different section to perform on road as well as off road - Exceptional wet and dry grip, thanks to tread design and grooves distribution and geometry - Unborn handling and hi-speed stability thanks to radial carcass with zero degree steel belt

24.01.2020 from Charles Fox Great tyre on my Honda CB500X for mostly road use but also plenty of gravel tracks and pot holed back roads. Gives a great feeling of confidence even in the wet. Very stable and predictable handling. Haven't tried it on mud or sand. This is a review of the 'old' Scorpion Trail, not the Trail 2 which I have not tried.
09.12.2012 from Mac Elliott Tyre used in Pan American trip over all sorts of terrain including dirt roads. Bike loaded to capacity but driven with care.
02.01.2011 from Dinos Too hard. Have it 15,000 km and it goes another 5,000 easily
