Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 235/50 ZR17 96Y N0, EVR, with rim protection (MFS) DOT2022

High Performance Tire

Description:

The Asymetric Eagle F1 has been developed specifically with high performance, luxury cars in mind. There cars demand a tyre that's responsive to their predictive safety systems and keeps their raw power under control. Step forward with the Goodyear Eagle F1, a tyre that balacnes performance and control in equal measure. High performance vehicle owners still look for safety first when it comes to choosing a tyre, closely followed by performance and comfort. So the challenge to our engineers was to complement the predictive safety systems found on modern cars and develop a tyre that could control these powerful modern vehicles without loss of performance. The result was the Eagle F1 Asymmetric. Combining our revolutionary Active Cornergrip Technology and Racing Compound derivatives, the pressure is evenly distributed when cornering at high speeds, meaning more contact patch grips the road more of the time.

The Eagle F1 Asymmetric benefits:

High performance, extreme safety
Resistance to aquaplaning, wet handling
Better tracking and grip in wet and dry conditions
Ensuring a smoother, quieter ride

Feature:

Revolutionary new asymmetric tread design and construction
Even pressure distribution and increased road contact
Inter tread zone compression
Optimised pitching sequence

Benefits:

Utilising all the latest Goodyear technology
Enhanced cornering and grip
More tread in contact with the road
Enhanced wet handling
Helps reduce aquarplaning
A quiteter, smoother ride

EU Tyre Label and Efficiency Classes

The European Union has introduced the EU Tyre Label by Regulation (No. 1222/2009) identically and bindingly for all EU member states. It applies to passenger car tyres, light commercial vehicle tyres and heavy commercial vehicle tyres produced after 01.07.2012.

Three different areas are tested: rolling resistance, wet grip and the rolling noise the tyre makes on the road.

The following are not affected by the EU Tyre Label: retreaded tyres, professional off-road tyres, racing tyres, tyres with additional devices to improve traction such as spiked tyres, T-type emergency tyres, special tyres for fitting to vehicles first registered before 1 October 1990, tyres with a maximum authorised speed of 80 km/h, tyres for rims with a nominal diameter of 254 mm or less or 635 mm or more.

With this regulation, the European Union is pursuing the goal of promoting economic and ecological efficiency in road traffic as well as increasing road safety on the one hand, and on the other hand, granting consumers more product transparency and at the same time serving as an active decision-making aid.

Already during the incorporation, experts criticise the fact that the EU Tyre Label unfortunately only shows a few product characteristics. Apart from rolling resistance, wet grip and rolling noise, which are the main focus of EU tyre labelling, tyres have much more important and safety-relevant product characteristics, such as aquaplaning properties, driving stability, service life, braking properties on dry and wet roads, behaviour in wintry conditions, etc.

Tyre manufacturers point out that test results from various institutions and journals remain an important information medium for the end consumer. These tests usually focus on further safety-relevant product characteristics besides the EU standard qualifications for tyre labelling, which are always important for the final customer.

These tyres replaced Pirelli P zero's so it was a hard act to follow but the only fault I noticed was on fast damp corners they do not hold on just as well

First thing to say is I have MO's fitted. Tried these on my Stage 3 TT RS - some commuting some shall we say v.spirited driving, grip is excellent, wet & dry but of course the awd helps , as good as others I've tried. what is surprising to me is the wear rate they are great, i'm not expecting zillions of miles but to compare I have a mondeo diesel with Michelins doing same commute and only about 20% tops better. Car's a bit noisy so can't comment about road noise but again no more/less noisy than other premiums.

Definitely my first choice for summer tyres after trying several premium brands. Excellent grip in dry and wet which inspires confidence for spirited driving in all driving conditions.
